Erick Van Wagenen

Erick Van Wagenen
President & CEO
Erick serves as President & CEO of WeDriveU, a business unit of global mobility provider Mobico Group. Erick and his team lead the strategy to deliver transportation solutions for connected communities, campuses and workplaces. Erick previously served as President & CEO of WeDriveU as well as its President and Chief Operating Officer. Over 15 years with the company, he has developed and expanded WeDriveU’s client base, grown revenues and scaled WeDriveU nationwide. Erick serves on the Board of Directors for the North American Transit Association (NATA), is a member of the American Public Transit Association and the Association for Commuter Transportation (ACT), and was named to ACT’s 40 Under 40 in TDM. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Productions and Operations Management from Cal State East Bay – School of Business and Economics.

Sam brings 27 years of senior finance leadership experience in transportation, technology, and investment banking. He oversees financial growth strategy, financial and business planning, and financial automation. Sam previously served as CFO at Encoura and moovel (a division of Daimler), and Director of Innovation for MobilityX, a division of Daimler Financial Services he helped launch. Sam was named one of 2025’s Best CFOs in Austin by the Austin Business Journal. Sam is based in Austin, Texas and holds a BA and MBA from the University of Texas.

As Interim Chief Operations Officer, Stan Kluska focuses on driving operational excellence across WeDriveU. Stan is a transportation, logistics, and supply chain professional specializing in transportation, operations strategy and execution, engineering, facility management, and quality assurance. He is experienced in high-level operations leadership, project management, and strategic collaboration with cross-functional organizational leadership as well as customers and third-party vendors/partners. In addition to overseeing Central Planning, his team leads mobilizations and large-scale transitions.

Tim oversees WeDriveU’s Commercial team and brings more than 30 years of executive leadership experience in transportation solutions to this role. He previously served as Chief Operating Officer for WeDriveU, leading Operations, Fleet, HR and Safety. Prior to joining WeDriveU, Tim served as President and Chief Commercial Officer for ABC Companies, a bus and motorcoach solutions provider. He led financial management at Greyhound Lines and The SavingsBanc and was a senior auditor at Arthur Andersen & Co. Tim holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Northern Iowa, passed the CPA exam, and is a former Board Member for the United Motorcoach Association (UMA).

Justin Thulien brings more than 20 years of experience in transportation and hospitality, where he’s shaped and implemented successful people, talent and culture programs for large, distributed workforces at organizations such as Hornblower Group and Royal Ambulance. Adept at building high-performance cultures and fostering employee engagement, Justin will spearhead the expansion of WeDriveU’s nationwide people team and resources.

Joanna leads Marketing, Communications and Community for WeDriveU, overseeing brand strategy, thought leadership, demand generation, employee engagement and community programs. She has over 25 years of experience building high-growth brands. She previously served as Vice President, North America Marketing for the company’s Shuttle. Transit and School divisions following Mobico Group’s acquisition of WeDriveU. Joanna is on Mobico’s Global Sustainability Steering Group and is executive sponsor and a founding steering committee member for its Women’s Inspiration Network employee resource group. She serves on the North America Transit Alliance (NATA) Management Committee, Chairs its Communications Committee, is former Chair and founder of the Shuttle Council for the Association for Commuter Transportation (ACT), and is a member of APTA and IPMI. Joanna was honored among the Top 50 Women Leaders of Raleigh, NC in 2025 by leadership organization Women We Admire. Prior to WeDriveU, Joanna consulted for B2B and B2C clients and held marketing communications, media and analyst relations roles at private and public Silicon Valley technology companies including Zaplet, Hyperion and Arbor Software. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Management) from San Diego State University.

Jose Valera brings 14 years’ experience working in legal and strategy roles, including Daimler Mercedes/BMW-owned companies RideScout, Globesherpa, and moove, where he served as Chief Legal Officer, Chief Strategy Officer, and ultimately Chief Executive Officer. Jose is focused on WeDriveU’s commercial and government contracting, litigation, risk management, real estate transactions, environmental and regulatory compliance, and labor. Most recently, Jose provided legal counsel to law firm Wilson Sonsini. Jose received his law degree from The University of Texas School of Law and his B.S. in Computer Science from the United States Military Academy at West Point. Jose is based in our Austin, Texas office.

Bernie Cassidy joined WeDriveU in 2025 to lead and grow our nationwide Maintenance department, which works alongside our Operations team and every department across the company to deliver safe, reliable transportation service to our customers and passengers as we grow. Bernie brings exceptional global leadership and military engineering experience, and is widely known for motivating and mentoring his colleagues. Prior to WeDriveU, Bernie led Repair and Maintenance for Hafil Transportation Company in Saudi Arabia. He also led Engineering at National Express LTD, McGill’s Buses and First Bus in the United Kingdom. Bernie retired from the British Army after 23 years of service in The Corps of Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers.
