The University at Buffalo has introduced eight GILLIG battery-electric buses as the first vehicles in its Stampede campus transport fleet to move away from diesel. The 40-foot buses are being operated by UB’s transportation provider WeDriveU, with fleet electrification company Zenobē providing charging infrastructure and operational support.

Teams from UB, WeDriveU, Zenobe and Gillig were on hand with local officials at the ribbon-cutting, marking an important milestone in UB’s “10 in 10 roadmap” for a zero-emissions campus.

University at Buffalo, WeDriveU and Zenobē welcomed the first electric buses to the Stampede Fleet under UB’s zero emissions roadmap. Eye-catching and emissions-free, they are the first of the UB Stampede fleet to transition away from diesel to EV in a program serving approximately 16,000 passengers each day.
