WeDriveU improves efficiency, comfort and sustainability with policies and procedures that comply with federal, state and local regulations for private transportation operators. Our field safety and operations managers and entire team monitors WeDriveU’s nationwide services using cutting-edge technologies and robust best practices to ensure the care and comfort of our passengers, employees and the public.
We maintain operating authorities, licenses and permits required by vehicle codes and regulations for state and local agencies. WeDriveU is registered with the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT #2286995) and adheres to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) guidelines.
WeDriveU was honored with the 2023 NCDOL Gold Award for Safety and as a finalist in the 2022 Connected Operations Awards by Samsara. We’re a proud member of the National Safety Council and are committed to engaging public transit agencies and other national and local organizations in developing and implementing licensing, permitting and policy efforts that improve safety, convenience and traffic flow.
Safety Training and Certification
We screen, train and certify drivers employed by WeDriveU (no contractors) and independently screen for criminal background, DMV records and drug testing. To enhance driving skills and develop efficient and safe driving behavior, we combine the industry’s leading online driver training curriculum with WeDriveU instructor-led live training on topics such as:
- Safe backing procedures
- Passenger loading and unloading
- Pedestrian and bicyclist safety
- Customer service
Preventative Maintenance
Our nationwide fleet maintenance program applies rigorous service and quality controls, including routine and preventative maintenance, repairs and inspections. We use Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certified technicians and connected vehicle technologies to increase safety, compliance and uptime. Highlights:

Insurance
WeDriveU provides a robust insurance offering of $10 million to $25 million of automobile liability coverage in addition to workers compensation and general liability coverages. We have the ability to tailor our insurance to fit each client’s unique requirements.
