Enhancing Accessibility: Serving the Disability Community with TigerAccess
Did You Know? In 2020, WeDriveU was awarded the contract to be Princeton University’s campus shuttle provider of fixed route transit operations, ADA and late-night on-demand services—ushering in a new era of sustainable mobility for TigerTransit.
TigerAccess, the university’s ADA service, plays a crucial role in providing accessible transportation for visitors, students, and faculty with mobility-related disabilities or medical conditions. This curb-to-curb service offers a personalized and flexible solution that complements the fixed-route EV shuttles. By providing direct pick-up and drop-off at specific campus buildings, TigerAccess enhances mobility, independence, and convenience for individuals navigating Princeton University.
WeDriveU advances passenger equity by operating TigerAccess within the same area and hours as TigerTransit. Riders can book trips through the Transportation and Parking Services website or the app from WeDriveU’s partner, TripShot.
The ADA-compliant van accommodates up to three passengers (or two with a wheelchair or mobility device) and features lift or ramp access. Service dogs are welcome, and WeDriveU’s specially-trained drivers assist visually impaired riders by announcing stops.
TigerTransit earned national recognition for excellence, winning the Best Overall Commuter Program award at the 2023 Association for Commuter Transportation (ACT) Awards and the 2024 and 2025 Best Universities for Commuters. The result? A bold leap toward more accessible and sustainable mobility—powered by WeDriveU’s innovation, teamwork, and a shared vision for equity.
