WeDriveU Salutes Drivers for Safety Excellence

In celebration of the 25th anniversary of National Safety Month, we’re saluting our team’s commitment to a safe and comfortable journey for shuttle passengers traveling to workplaces and campuses.

We sat down with Amy Paolercio, WeDriveU’s Director of Safety and 2020 NSC Rising Stars of Safety honoree, to hear how her department is marking the National Safety Council’s annual program “to help keep each other safe from the workplace to anyplace.”

Safety Superheroes

WeDriveU recognizes its highest-performing bus drivers – aka “Safety Superheroes” – with its Top Safety Performers program.

Amy pointed out WeDriveU’s Stockton, California-based driver team made an exceptionally strong showing among recent honorees. The team serves WeDriveU’s manufacturing and technology clients and represented 9 of the top 15 in May, including top-ranked driver, Keo Chum.

“It’s a testament to our drivers’ dedication to their passengers and the hard work that our safety supervisors and operations managers put into coaching and re-training,” Amy said.

Amy added WeDriveU’s top 50 drivers span U.S. locations such as San Jose, CA; Seattle, WA; Princeton, NJ; Chicago, IL and Boston, MA, with many repeat winners.

Safe Driving Skills

WeDriveU promotes its Safety Superheroes campaign through safety meetings, extensive communications, and robust field, classroom and online driver training.

For example, this month Amy and her team of safety supervisors rolled out expanded precision driving curriculum with WeDriveU’s Seattle team.

The course helps bus drivers sharpen their skills by practicing common scenarios as they drive to, from and around employer campuses in urban settings. Shout-out to our Seattle bus drivers for demonstrating impressive backing and turning skills.
