Women Who Move Us
As part of Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day, WeDriveU’s Women’s Inspiration Network (WIN) ERG is spotlighting and recognizing incredible women whose leadership, expertise, and dedication help move our organization forward. Leaders, including Marissa Basile, VP of Customer Success and Chair, Women’s Inspiration Network (WIN); Joanna Rustin, SVP, Marketing, Communications & Community and Executive Sponsor of WIN; and Halle Haley, Community and Events Manager, shared their #GivetoGain reflections on LinkedIn.
Leading the Future of Transportation
Across our operations, corporate teams, and leadership roles, women at WeDriveU play an essential part in shaping the future of shared mobility. Through their leadership, collaboration, and commitment to serving communities, they demonstrate the impact women have across every part of the transportation industry.
Achieving New Heights in Mobility
Victoria Young: Growing Through Learning and Development
Victoria Young joined WeDriveU seven months ago as a Learning and Development Specialist, bringing her expertise in instructional design to help employees grow their careers.
Before joining WeDriveU, Victoria worked as an Instructional Designer focused on creating online courses and training sessions. In her current role, she has expanded that work by helping to shape training programs, facilitating learning sessions, and coaching teams across the company.
For Victoria, one of the most rewarding moments so far has been facilitating “Trainer Tune -Up” sessions, where Training Managers and teams from across the country come together to share experiences and improve their skills as trainers.
“Hearing our teams share their expertise and learn from one another has been incredibly rewarding,” she said. “Our ability to laugh, learn, and succeed together makes a big difference,” she shared. “It’s a privilege to do meaningful work with leaders who care deeply about the impact we have across the organization.”
Kizzy Jackson: From Driver to Leadership
Based in Hyde Park, Massachusetts, where WeDriveU proudly serves MBTA’s “The RIDE” paratransit service, Kizzy Jackson’s journey is a powerful example of career progression. Celebrating 10 years with the company this October, she has risen from Driver to Site Supervisor and now serves as Assistant Operations Manager.
Kizzy finds her background on the front line invaluable, as transporting people gave her the opportunity to offer companionship to those facing challenges.
“Transporting people gave me the opportunity to hear about their life experiences and perspectives,” she said. “Being able to offer companionship and support to someone who might be going through a challenging time was incredibly fulfilling.”
Today, she brings that same empathy and dedication into her leadership role. She says one of the things she values most about her team is the supportive environment with an “open-door policy’, where teams feel comfortable seeking help.
Natalie Astudillo: Supporting Communities Through Collaboration
Natalie Astudillo joined the WeDriveU team earlier this year as a Paralegal and part of the collaborative environment that drives the company’s success.
In her seven months with the organization, she has seen firsthand how her work impacts clients and communities by helping move thousands of people safely every day.
“One of the most rewarding parts of working at WeDriveU is seeing the real impact our work has,” she shared. “Helping move thousands of people safely and efficiently every day is incredibly fulfilling.”
Natalie credits her team’s strong sense of collaboration for making the work especially meaningful, explaining that a shared commitment to doing their best work makes a big difference in how they approach each day.
“Everyone is always willing to step in, share ideas, and help solve challenges together,” she said. “That shared commitment to doing our best work makes a big difference in how we approach each day.”
Megan Dorroh: Championing Safety and Responsibility
Megan Dorroh has spent the past three years strengthening WeDriveU’s safety culture, moving from a Safety Compliance Manager to her current role as Director of Safety & Compliance.
For Megan, the most meaningful part of her work is preventing harm, knowing that every policy and training process contributes to the safety of drivers and passengers of WeDriveU’s transit and shuttle programs across the U.S.
“The most meaningful part of my work is knowing that it prevents harm,” she said. “Every policy, training program, and compliance process contributes to the safety of our drivers and passengers.”
She also values the shared sense of responsibility within her team. That commitment creates stronger outcomes for drivers, passengers, and the organization as a whole.
“My team treats safety as a genuine responsibility rather than just paperwork,” Megan said. “They always strive to do the right thing, even when no one is looking.”
Jessica Araiza: Turning Momentum into Operational Success
As an Assistant General Manager in San Jose, California, where WeDriveU operates numerous private shuttle programs for large employers, Jessica Araiza has made a significant impact in her nearly two years with WeDriveU.
One of her proudest accomplishments was growing both of her programs within her first six months in the role, a feat that required intense focus and coordination.
“What I enjoy most about my team is the collaboration,” she shared. “Everyone is willing to work together and support one another to keep operations running smoothly.”
By fostering teamwork and focusing on operational success, Jessica continues to help strengthen service and reliability for the communities her team supports.
Norma Quintero Hernandez: Leading with Experience and Dedication
Norma Quintero Hernandez, an Operations Manager in Bakersfield, California, where WeDriveU proudly serves Kern Transit, will celebrate seven years with WeDriveU this April.
Throughout her tenure, she has focused on developing her expertise, notably completing our stringent leadership program.
“It polished my leadership skills and gave me a network of individuals pursuing growth,” Norma shared. “It was a huge commitment since my role is fast-paced and my day can change in a moment’s notice.”
Norma also credits the people around her for helping her succeed. She speaks highly of her manager, Michelle Jorgensen, whom she describes as an exceptional mentor and role model.
“I’m very blessed to have a team that works well together and works hard to make things happen.”
Norma’s leadership and commitment to continuous growth help keep her operation strong and responsive to the communities it serves.
Anna Cicio: Supporting Teams Across the Country
Anna Cicio brings years of hands-on experience to her role in Regional Safety Training.
Her career began as a driver before she became a Certified School Bus Driver Instructor through the New York State Education Department and a Certified DMV 19-A Examiner, and eventually advanced to Safety Manager and Operations Manager at WeDriveU.
Anna says some of the most rewarding moments in her career have come from training teams across multiple locations, supporting new startup operations, and working closely with all of our CSCs.
For her, Anna finds it incredibly fulfilling to support new startup operations and train teams across multiple locations.
“The most rewarding aspect of my job is interacting with our employees, sharing knowledge, and helping them become more proficient in their roles,” she said.
Through training, mentorship, and operational support, Anna helps ensure employees have the tools and knowledge they need to keep both drivers and passengers safe.
Darcy Kenitzer: Building a Supportive Workplace
Darcy Kenitzer joined WeDriveU as a Senior Paralegal, Labor & Employment nearly a year ago. Supporting the legal team remotely from Chicago, Illinois, she plays a key role in navigating complex legal matters and supporting employees across the business.
Darcy shared that the most rewarding part of her experience at WeDriveU isn’t tied to a single project or milestone. Instead, it comes from something more meaningful: feeling valued both professionally and personally.
“Just knowing that I am appreciated not just as a member of the Legal team, but as a person as well,” she shared.
That sense of appreciation is reinforced by the culture within her team. Darcy describes an environment built on open and honest communication, where collaboration comes naturally and teammates are always willing to step in when support is needed.
“The open and honest communication among the team encourages a very supportive work environment, regardless of role or subject matter area. Everyone is willing to pitch in if there’s a heavy lift.”
Through her work and her approach to collaboration, Darcy helps strengthen the supportive culture that makes WeDriveU a place where people can succeed together.
