WeDriveU Gives Back for Wildfire Relief

A heartwarming story of our team giving back to the communities we serve.

A huge shout-out to James Wright, Program Manager for one of WeDriveU’s large multinational employer shuttle clients in Portland. James helped the client coordinate the delivery of supplies to wildfire evacuees in Southern Oregon.

Residents evacuated as the region’s wildfires destroyed thousands of homes and displaced more than 40,000 people, compounding the devastation across the western U.S.

James not only assisted with donation events at the client’s headquarters, he volunteered his personal time to drive donations to Southern Oregon.

James used one of WeDriveU’s ADA-equipped shuttle vans to load and transport donations to a central receiving area. On Sunday, September 20th, James and another volunteer left at 8 a.m. to drive refrigerated sprinter vans loaded with 2,000 prepared meals. Their long day ended at midnight!

“It’s been a great feeling transferring meals to relief organizations like the Red Cross and Rogue Food Unites.

Working with a client that shares creative ideas and our passion for giving back to those in need is something I really enjoy about working for WeDriveU,” James added.

We’re proud of team WeDriveU’s spirit of community service with natural disasters hitting during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Way to go, James!
